Step aboard the Australian-built Tengirri and straight into the wave-rich paradise of the Mentawai islands.
About Tengirri
This 46-foot, catamaran-style charter is purpose built for comfort and for catapulting you and your party into the best waves the Mentawai and Telo islands have to offer.
With dozens of waves littered throughout the region, speed becomes a defining factor in scoring uncrowded and perfect waves. The Tengirri provides a comfortable and speedy transition between waves allowing you to spend more time in the water and in the best waves possible on any given day.
With a limit of eight passengers, the Tengirri is one of the most suitable Mentawai boat charters for smaller groups, making for a more intimate and tailored experience for guests with the added benefit of an extremely spacious layout.
The Tengirri boasts three sprawling deck areas that are ideal for a post or pre-surf chill sessions, an indoor salon and large sit-down dining area, flat screen TV with DVD and stereo, and, most importantly, comfortable sleeping arrangements for eight guests plus crew in six separate cabin.
This charter operates within the Mentawai and Telo Island region – home to some of the best and most well-rounded surf breaks on the planet. Along with your Australian captain, who knows each surf break intimately, your party can decide where you’d like the charter to head.
The Tengirri is also a perfect option for non-surfers to join their surfer partners or friends for a cruise through one of Indonesia’s most idyllic locations. The boat is fully equipped with all things necessary to keep a non-surfer occupied.
The Tengirri also provides an onboard photo/video service. We have a high-quality SLR digital camera, Canon EOS 40D with zoom lenses, to capture all those epic waves, trophy fish, smiles, and good times.
If you’re looking for a comfortable and intimate surf trip with all the trimmings, book your place on the Tengirri today!

For your comfort and safety, the Tengirri is fitted with air-conditioning throughout common and sleeping areas and regularly maintains its mechanical equipment updates and has a comprehensive list of safety equipment.
The Surf
Indonesia is renowned for its waves. The jewel in the Indonesian crown is the Mentawai Island chain with its plethora of waves to suit all craft and all ability. It’s one of the few locations in the world where you can perfect that round-house cutback or score the heaving barrel of your life on the same day. Some well-known options are left-handers like Greenbush, Thunders or the infinitely fun Macaronis or right-handers like HT’s, Roxy’s or Rag’s right. Your options are limitless on a Tengirri charter.
Meals
Tengirri Meals
“All you can eat” is the mantra aboard the Tengirri. Be it freshly caught fish and sashimi snacks or the hearty meals from your chef’s personal recipe book, you’ll be fed a combination of local dishes such as curries along with western favourites like burgers, sandwiches and more. The most important thing to your crew is that you’re fueled and ready for another epic session.
All meals, snacks, and refreshments are included with your package, along with 20 cartons of Bintang beer.
Activities
If you’re looking to rest your sea legs, we’re happy to anchor and run you into the beach for some time ashore to visit local villages, sunbake or settle scores with a game of touch football. You’ll also have access to the Tengirri’s extensive range of fishing and snorkeling gear, media, magazine and book library along with a host of board games.
Getting There
Once you make your way to Padang airport, you’ll be met on arrival by the Tengirri Team and then, depending on flight arrival time, either taken directly to the harbour to board or to a transit hotel to relax until you’re ready to depart.
