Kosrae, called “The Sleeping Lady” because of the shape of one of its picturesque mountains is covered with dense tropical jungles and high volcanic peaks, with lush river valleys and spectacular views.

Surf
Looking for a surf destination with a difference, where if there’s three other surfers in the water, it’s considered a busy day? Look no further. The surf at Kosrae can range from long walls to stand-up barrels. Kosrae’s swell, tide, and winds make local knowledge a necessity. The best time of year to visit Kosrae is October through to March. During these months, consistent medium to large swells arrive from the north, north-east, and north-west, which make the waves appropriate for intermediate and advanced surfers.
Most of this surf happens on the western side of the island, which is only accessed by boat. Surfing on this section of the island also requires a permit, which we can arrange for you, along with a boat and a very experienced guide with lots of local knowledge.
